Mixx Card
What is the Mixx Card?

The Mixx Card is designed as a business OV chip card that allows you to easily travel from door to door.

You can travel in all public transport (train, bus, tram and metro). In addition, the Mixx Card provides access to extra services such as the public transport bicycle (OV-fiets), P+R parking, and the use of a taxi or a rental car.

When will I receive the Mixx Card?

You will receive the Mixx Card within 5 working days after you have completed the application.

Can the Mixx Card be used immediately after receipt?

Before you can use your Mixx Card, you need to activate it at the NS ticket machine on the station or one of the other service points for the OV chip card. To continue to make use of the NS, you need to re-upload your NS product yearly. Every year, you will receive a notification when the order is available for your Mixx Card. 

You can load the product on your card at a NS ticket machine at the station or another OV chip card service points. Hold your card against the pink OV chip card logo on the machine and follow the instructions on the screen. Choose "Ophalen bestellingen". Mobility Mixx has already made the order available for you.

How can I request information or advice about the Mixx Card?

How do I as an employer apply for the Mixx Card?

Can I charge the Mixx Card balance or products myself?

No, this is not allowed, not even for personal use of the Mixx Card. The Mixx Card is automatically charged. If you would charge your own balance on the Mixx Card, you will lose the money. Refund is not possible.

My Mixx Card has been stolen/lost. What should I do?

If you have lost your Mixx Card or your Mixx Card has been stolen, you should contact the Mobility Mixx customer service directly via 0900 - 662 46 49 or fill in the contact form with your details so that the Mixx Card can be blocked.

Do I have to hand in the Mixx Card if I am no longer employed at the specific company?

Yes, the Mixx Card is carried out as a business OV chip card and must be returned to your employer upon termination of employment.

What should I do when my card is expired?

A Mixx Card is valid for 5 years. 4 weeks in advance we will order a replacement card for you.  After you have received the replacement card, you need to send back your expired card to below mentioned address:

How does traveling with the Mixx Card work?

You use the Mixx Card in public transport as an OV chip card: by checking in and out. Taxis and rental cars are booked in advance via the Mobility Mixx online portal 'MyMixx'.

What is the Mixx Budget?

The Mixx Budget is a tax advantageous alternative to the lease car, where employees manage the budget from which their travel costs are paid.

How does the Mixx Budget work?

With Mixx Budget, employees receive a monthly budget for all business trips. Employees manage the budget from which their travel costs are paid via the web portal. In addition, employees themselves determine how the business kilometers are covered. Cheaper travel means more money saved at the end of the month!

What are the advantages of the Mixx budget?

The Mixx Budget by Mobility Mixx has many advantages.

For the organisation:
- Mobility costs are better budgeted and managed
- All work is taken care of and administrative handling is done by Mobility Mixx
- Stimulating cost-consious travel among employees
- Responding to the individual wishes of your employee: the remaining budget can be paid in gross compensation or used for other employee benefits

Public transport
Can the Mixx Card be used anywhere in public transport?

Yes, the Mixx Card can be used throughout the Netherlands with all operators where an OV chip card is accepted as a means of transport.

How does travelling with public transport work with the Mixx Card?

At the start of your journey, you keep your Mixx Card against the pink OV chip card logo at the gate or card reader. You are now checked in. The gate opens or the card reader gives a positive confirmation signal. At the end of your trip, you check out by holding your Mixx Card against the pink OV chip card logo at the gate or card reader. What should I do if I have forgotten to check out?

If you have forgotten to check out, your next steps will depend on the moment and the carrier. Have you travelled with NS? Then you can check out later in the day (up to 6 hours after check-in and no later than 4 a.m.) at the station. 

Please note! This is only possible if no other public transit transactions have taken place with your Mixx Card in the meantime. It is also not possible to check out at the same station you have checked in. 

Have you noticed that you forgot to check out at a later time? Then you can request a refund via www.uitcheckgemist.nl.

How can I temporarily change the class for traveling with NS?

If your Mixx Card is provided with NS 2nd class, it is possible to change the class for a day or part of a day. This is how that works: 

Go to an NS ticket machine with an OV chip card logo. Hold your Mixx Card in front of the card reader at the bottom right of the machine (on the OV chip card logo). 

Select 'Change class'  on the screen and choose '1st class today'. Hold your Mixx Card in front of the card reader. 

Your class has now been changed until 4 a.m., but you can also reset the class to the 2nd class at the NS ticket machine the same day. 

If it is not possible to load the '1st class today' product on your Mixx Card, please contact NS customer service on 0800-0540. Through remote assistance, the customer service department of NS can see what you see and provide you with direct help. Please watch our manual and instruction video about the NS class change for more information.

I would like to permanently change the class on my Mobility Card. How does that work?

Depending on the agreements with your employer, this is possible via MyMixx. Is there - after logging in - a gray icon with the NS product with a different class under 'Requestable products' in your dashboard? Then the class change can be made directly by you. Click on this icon to request the class change. Is the class change not available for you? Please ask your employer.

Can I travel first class with other train operators by using my NS first class product?

The first class only applies to NS and Arriva. Other train operators do not differentiate between class products, they solely work with check-in and check-out. Their check-in equipment always uses the cheapest (2nd class) rate, even if your card is provided with 1st class.

Can I travel with the Intercity Direct?

Yes, you can. You will need surcharge to travel between Amsterdam Centraal, Schiphol Airport, Rotterdam Centraal and Breda or vice versa in addition to checking in. You can easily purchase the surcharge for a one-way journey at the surcharge column on the Intercity direct departure platform. 

After checking in as usual, hold the Mixx Card in front of the card reader on the surcharge column. No actions are required at the surcharge column upon arrival. As always, you must check out at NS gates or poles for your normal train journey. 

If you are traveling back with the Intercity Direct, you need purchase a surcharge again. No surcharge is needed when traveling between Amsterdam - Schiphol and Breda - Rotterdam.

Am I allowed to travel on ICE-trains?

Yes, you may use ICE-trains on all Dutch routes without additional charge.

OV Bicycle
What is the public transport bicycle (OV-fiets) and how can I rent it with Mobility Mixx?

The public transportation bicycle (OV-fiets) is a simple rental bicycle that is perfect for the last part of your trip. At the station you can quickly rent an OV-fiets to go to work, a customer or a meeting. You can rent an OV-fiets at both manned and unmanned rental locations. 

Renting at a manned rental location (bicycle storage):
Show your Mixx Card to an employee. After your Mixx Card and the bar code of the bicycle key have been scanned, you will receive the OV-fiets. On return, the employee scans the key again.

Renting at an unmanned rental location (bicycle locker):
To retrieve a bicycle from a bicycle locker, scan your Mixx Card at the card reader. The card reader checks whether you can rent an OV-fiets with your Mixx Card. If that is the case, the locker door opens. When returning the OV-fiets, scan your Mixx Card again at the card reader and follow the instructions on the screen. Then place the bicycle back in the bicycle locker.

What are the opening times of the OV-fiets rental locations?

The opening times vary per rental location. The opening hours of each rental location can be found here.

What are the costs of renting a public transport bicycle (OV-fiets)?

The costs of renting a public transport bicycle (OV-fiets) are €3,85 per 24 hours. You pay per consecutive period of 24 hours.

Can I return an OV-fiets somewhere else?

Yes, you can. If you hand in an OV-fiets at a location other than the original rental location, a surcharge of € 10 will be charged for the logistical handling.

How long can I rent a public transport bicycle (OV-fiets)?

You may rent a public transport bicycle (OV-fiets) for a maximum of 72 consecutive hours. After that, a surcharge applies.

Rental Cars
How do I request a rental car?

Book a rental car at least 4 business hours in advance via MyMixx. Did you indicate special wishes? Take into account a longer delivery time.

P+R Parking
What is P+R parking?

With P+R parking, employees park at Q-Park P+R areas directly at the station on a well-organized site with CCTV and good lighting.

How does P+R parking work?

There is a magnetic strip at the back of the Mixx Card. If you insert the Mixx Card into the card reader - with the magnetic strip down - the barrier at the P+R area will open. 

Exiting the parking area works the same way. The parking time is recorded and the parking costs are then invoiced to the employer. View our manuals and instructional videos for more information on P+R parking.

What are the costs of P+R Parking?

The parking costs vary per location. If you use the Mixx Card for P+R parking, the low rate for train journeys will be charged.

Which parking areas can I use with the Mixx Card?

You can park at the Q-park P+R areas and NS terrains at stations. You can find the locations here.

Taxi
How does traveling by taxi work?

By using MyMixx (the online portal of Mobility Mixx), it is very easy to book a taxi. Mobility Mixx then ensures that a taxi is ready at the desired time. Showing your Mixx Card to the driver will be sufficient.

How many people are allowed to join the taxi?

You may share a taxi with a maximum of 3 people. You only have to submit one booking for this. You specify the number of people when submitting the booking.

MyMixx
What is MyMixx?

This is your personal account on the Mobility Mixx portal. Here you can submit or change bookings and view your travel transactions. You will also find your card details and travel rights here. Has your employer provided you with a Mixx Budget? Then you will also see all budget data here and you can submit declarations.

Which products am I able to book in MyMixx?

Please use MyMixx to book a shared car, rental cars and taxis in advance.
